A number of companies—both large and small—have been pledging support for employees in need of abortion services following Friday’s historic Supreme Court ruling overturning Roe vs Wade.
Execs from industries including banking, technology and real estate have vowed to support employees, in some cases offering to cover expenses up to $10,000 if out-of-state travel is required.
The L.A. Times reports that Douglas Elliman said it planned to expand out-of-state healthcare coverage for employees likely to be directly affected by the ruling. The real estate brokerage also pledged to reimburse agents and staff who may be forced to travel out of state to obtain reproductive care.
Leadership at Compass have also vowed to expand its healthcare coverage “to provide U.S. employees and their dependents a medical travel reimbursement benefit for out-of-state reproductive care for those in areas where that care is not available,” per a company statement.
