A new home may not exactly be the graduation gifts most receive when finishing college, but then again, Tara Shahidi isn’t your typical graduate. The young actress and star of Grown-ish and Black-ish also didn’t need anyone to buy her a gift: she did it herself.
Shahidi reportedly closed on a 1980s Spanish-style stunner in La Cañada Flintridge just weeks ago, dropping a cool $4.8 million on the home. Featuring four bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms, the home spans some 5,700 square feet, updated while still preserving much of its classic charm.
Soaring 20-foot high beamed ceilings and 10 foot French doors make a statement from the moment you walk in. Spanish-style features include large niches, arched openings, carved cornices, an “angelic” fireplace and an indoor fountain.
The primary suite features a convenient smoothie/coffee bar with sink, cabinets, and Sub Zero refrigerator/freezer and ice maker. The second suite features a fireplace seating area and access to a second-story deck overlooking the hillside.
The almost one acre hillside is alive with lush, colorful landscaping, a pool and winding sidewalks. As a bonus, there’s a barrel roofed game house complete with pool table.
Sarah Stark of Berkshire Hathaway HomeService held the listing, while Cynthia and Jeffrey Salcido of Compass repped the buyer.
