Easily one of the most striking listings we’ve ever featured on California Listings, it appears Kat Von D is having a hard time moving her Hancock Park home. The tattoo artist/cosmetics entrepreneur/budding singer has relisted her L.A. mansion for $12.5 million—just a few months after initially listing the property for $15 million.
The home features 13 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms across more than three levels and 12,500 square feet of living space. Originally built in the 1890s, Kat Von D purchased the home in 2016 for $6.5 million, before embarking on extensive, goth-inspired renovations.
All the traditional spaces and touches you’d expect to find in a house of its age are still here: wood-paneled sitting room, seven fireplaces, a library, French-style ballroom, den, living room, dining room. There’s also a third-floor theater and a hidden speakeasy with hand-carved walls.
Most striking, however, is the a blood-red pool and hot tub found out back.
There is also a two bedroom/one bathroom carriage house atop a large garage.
This historic property has recently undergone a meticulous restoration. The Victorian was moved to its current location in Windsor Square by J. Benton Van Nuys in 1915.
Jamie Sher of the Sher Group holds the listing along with new listing partners, Kirby Gillon and Bryce Lowe of Aaron Kirman Group at Compass.
