Averages have been slowly rising since the start of the year, and are expected to increase throughout 2022. Here’s how the week ending April 8 looked, according to averages from CNET:
The 30-year fixed-mortgage rate average is 5.04 percent, an increase of 14 basis points from one week ago. The average rate for a 15-year fixed mortgage is 4.18 percent, up 12 basis points from seven days ago.
A 5/1 adjustable-rate mortgage stands with an average rate of 5.03 percent, an increase of 13 basis points from last week.
On the refinance front, the average 30-year fixed refi is currently at 5.06 percent, up 18 basis points since the same time last week.
The average 15-year fixed refinance is 4.23 percent, an increase of 14 basis points week-over-week. And finally, the average rate for a 10-year refi is 4.25 percent, up 26 basis points compared to one week ago.
