They say a change will do you good—and that seems to be true in today’s real estate market.
According to new data out from Redfin, 31.2 percent of Redfin.com users looked to move to a different metro area in the fourth quarter of 2021, nearly hitting the record high of 31.5 percent set in the first quarter of last year. For comparison, just 26.3 percent of Redfin.com users were looking to relocate in the fourth quarter of 2019.
Sacramento was the only California city to land in the top five of the relocation interest list, joined by Phoenix, Las Vegas and Tampa. For the second quarter in a row, Miami took the number-one spot.
San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Washington, D.C. and Seattle are the top metros homebuyers looked to leave in the fourth quarter, according to net outflow, a measure of how many more Redfin.com home searchers looked to leave a metro than move in.
