A double lot and 100 feet of beach frontage doesn’t come cheap in Malibu. A custom built, new construction along Malibu Road has just been listed at an even $40 million.
According to the listing, the state-of-the-art contemporary features four bedrooms and four-and-a-half baths across more than 5,000 square feet of living space. Artisan custom finishes include a Lutron lighting system, fully automated floor-to-ceiling pocket glass doors, Italian porcelain floors throughout, Dornbracht and Fantini plumbing fixtures, Miele appliances, Quartzite kitchen island, plus porcelain walls and counter tops in all bathrooms.
Of course, Malibu living is all about the beach, and this home offers plenty of opportunities to soak up the sun. In addition to the custom pool and Jacuzzi, the home also boasts a rooftop deck. Additionally, the property includes gated beach access.
According to the L.A. Times, the new home sits on the site of Suzanne Somers’ former beach house, which burned down in 2007. Somers eventually sold the two side-by-side lots for $12.03 million in 2016.
Should the new listing go for anywhere near asking price, it’ll be one of Malibu’s priciest sales of the year.
Shen Schulz of Sotheby’s International Realty holds the listing.
