When it comes to global relocation, Los Angeles and San Francisco rank within the top 10 as best places in the world to choose, according to Money.co.uk, a British financial services site. In looking at cities that made other “best place for expats” lists, Money found that Austin is currently the most-desirable spot, with a relocation score of 6.02 out of 10.
The list takes into account factors including weather, number of restaurants, green spaces, average rainfall, average monthly salaries, Internet access and life expectancy.
Tokyo, Charleston and Dubai came in at no. 2-4, respectively. Los Angeles comes in at no. 5 with a score of 5.60, with San Francisco close behind at no. 9 and a score of 5.38.
Switzerland continues to hold the dubious honor of having the three most expensive cities to relocate to—Basel, Zurich and Lausanne. Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Kuala Lumpur were ranked as the most affordable relocation spots.
