Even the world’s wealthiest dog is trying to cash in on this red-hot housing market!
Gunther VI, a German shepherd who inherited a trust now valued at $500 million, has reportedly listed “his” Miami mansion—a home once owned by Madonna. According to the Associated Press, the trust fund that paid for the home was originally left to Gunther III, Gunther VI’s grandfather, by his owner, a German countess named Karlotta Liebenstein, who died in 1992.
“[Gunther VI] lives in Madonna’s former master bedroom,” listing agent Ruthie Assouline told the AP. “He literally sleeps overlooking the most magnificent view in an Italian custom bed in the former bedroom of the greatest pop star in the world.”
Gunther VI’s trustees have listed the Tuscan-style villa for $31.75 million. The property boasts nine bedrooms and eight-and-a-half baths across 8,400 square feet of interior living space.
The entire estate sits on a 51,000 square foot lot with 100 feet of water frontage. Only one of six waterfront homes in the exclusive enclave, the property is located next to famed Vizcaya and just minutes to Brickell and Miami Beach.
As mentioned in the listing, the Queen of Pop sold the estate some 20 years ago—however, not quite at the same price point as the current list price. The AP notes Madonna sold the home for $7.5 million.
Upon learning the news of the new listing, Madonna posted an image of herself looking sad on her Instagram Story with the caption: “When you find out a dog is selling your old house for 3 times the amount you sold it for!”
