With an already-commanding presence in the brokerage world, Compass has announced plans to expand it’s escrow reach.
According to the Real Deal, Compass will buy Dallas-based LegacyTexas Title, expanding its title insurance and escrow work in the nation’s second-most populous state. Exact terms of the deal were not disclosed, though it is expected to be finalized by the end of the year.
Compass has already spent a reported $103.8 million this year buying four other brokerages. Once the Texas deal is complete, Compass will offer escrow services in seven states: New York, California, Florida, Washington, Maryland and Virginia.
